“They’re pretenders,” Rob Gronkowski brutally trolls the Dallas Cowboys and rejects the idea of them winning the Super Bowl
Dallas Cowboys have nearly assured a playoff spot in the NFC even if they fail to win the NFC East division and are considered being Super Bowl contenders by many experts around the league, but for some reason, Rob Gronkowski doesn’t feel the same way. Former Patriots Tight-End and 4 times Super Bowl champion Rob Gronkowski took a jab at the cowboys for their recent playoff failures.
Speaking on FOX NFL Sunday, Gronkowski called out the Cowboys for being pretenders every single year. Gronkowski also noted the fact that the Minnesota Vikings have a better record than the Dallas Cowboys this Season.
“But you also can’t forget about the Minnesota Vikings. They have a better record than the Dallas Cowboys. And are the Dallas Cowboys pretenders or contenders? and history states that they’re pretenders every single year.” said Gronkowski.
The Dallas Cowboys did make Gronkowski’s comment look like a valid one when they struggled against the Houston Texans for four quarters before eventually winning the game 27-23 on Sunday. Although thanks to the heroic 98-yard game-winning drive by Dak Prescott, most people forgot about the Cowboys’ struggle before that.
Despite their struggles against the Texans and regardless of what Gronkowski thinks, the Dallas Cowboys legitimately look like Super Bowl Contenders and will look to improve their record and make a statement by defeating Trevor Lawrence and the Jacksonville Jaguars who they will be facing this Sunday.
Are the Dallas Cowboys contenders?
The Cowboys may not win the NFC East division as they are currently two games behind their division leaders Philadelphia Eagles, but with a record of 10-3, the Dallas-based franchise is almost guaranteed a playoff spot.
But are the Cowboys contenders or pretenders? Although NFC is not that competitive when compared to AFC, the Cowboys still have to face some pretty good teams in the postseason. The Eagles are arguably the best team in the NFL and the 49ers are getting hot and even the Lions are making some noise.
The Cowboys are a talented bunch themselves and they have superstars all across the field, but their struggle against the 1-10-1 Texans and inconsistent performances by their quarterback Dak Prescott does make it seem like they’re pretenders just like last year.
