“I could have walked in to win the game” Russell Wilson’s shocking BLUNDER on 4th and 1 leaves KJ Hamler FUMING after Broncos’ defeat against the Colts

Russell Wilson joined the Denver Broncos following a massive trade after the relationship between the Seattle Seahawks and Wilson soured. A few weeks later, the Broncos signed Wilson to a mammoth 5-year, $245 million contract in hope of Wilson leading them back to relevancy and possibly a Lombardi trophy.

The Broncos and Wilson’s journey back to the NFL mountaintop has had a rough beginning. The Broncos are currently 2-3 with losses to Wilson’s former team, the Seattle Seahawks in week 1, the Las Vegas Raiders last week, and now the Indianapolis Colts. The Broncos were hoping for a victory against the struggling Colts but suffered an upset 12-9 loss where Wilson looked lost. It was a game where both Wilson and the Colts’ quarterback Matt Ryan struggled and kickers scored all the points. The highlight of Wilson’s struggles was the last play of the game in overtime with the Colts leading by 3 Wilson and the Broncos at 4th and 1 with a chance to win the game, but Wilson made a blunder.

KJ Hamler smashed his helmet, frustrated with Russell Wilson’s incompletion

Russell Wilson, with the ball at fourth and one in the end zone, is a play that lives in infamy. The display had shades of that infamous play nearly a decade ago, as Russell Wilson in the red zone with around 2 minutes left on the clock was looking for someone to throw to win the game or at least gain 1 yard. He found his target in the form of Courtland Sutton and threw a pass that was smacked away by Stephon Gilmore, who was a nightmare for Wilson to deal with throughout the game and was covering Sutton at the time.

What was confusing was that there was a Broncos wide receiver who was open and could have easily taken the ball in the end zone for a possible victory but Wilson either didn’t see him or choose to ignore him in favor of Sutton and that wide receiver was KJ Hamler who was left fuming after the incomplete pass.

He was seen slamming his helmet to the ground repeatedly after the play.

Social media had a lot of questions regarding Wilson’s decision to throw to Sutton and not to Hamler.

Wilson and the Broncos will now face the Los Angeles Chargers led by Justin Herbert in their next match-up on 17th October, which will be a tough match-up for the Broncos.
