The New York Jets fans thought they finally got a good quarterback when their team drafted Zach Wilson as their no.2 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. However, it turned out Wilson just fooled everyone with his rocket arm.
The Jets fanbase is deprived of a good QB play for a long, long time. So, when they saw the potential in the BYU product, they thought that he would fix their problems and guide them to the Super Bowl. Furthermore, the Jets’ general manager Joe Douglas put a lot of pieces around the QB to help him achieve greatness. However, Wilson, after two full seasons, hasn’t convinced anyone that he belongs in this league.
Wilson played awful in his first two seasons, but it happens with rookies as they will need some time to adjust to the pace of the NFL. However, Wilson’s locker room behavior is more of an issue for the Jets. He was once thrashed by his own team fans after failing to take accountability for a loss against the New England Patriots in week 11 of the NFL’s regular season. Wilson was also benched 3 times for three different quarterbacks in the 2022 regular season.
Jets fans have lost their patience with Wilson and started to ask for a change in the QB position. And now, amidst this crazy situation, NFL insider Jordan Schultz has revealed some spicy news about the second-year quarterback.
NFL insider says the Jets players are done with Zach Wilson
Jordan Schultz joined the Pat McAfee show to talk about the upcoming NFL off-season and said that the Jets players start a mutiny if the front office decides to stick with Zach Wilson as their starting quarterback.
According to insider Schultz, Zach Wilson was “late to meetings, screwing around at meetings, and not having the right attitude”. The Jets will definitely look into the off-season QB market if this is true.
Furthermore, Schultz also implied that the players are completely done and ready to move on from the former BYU superstar. “There will be a mutiny if Zach Wilson was QB1 again. It’s not going to happen,” said Schultz on the Pat McAfee Show.
However, Pat McAfee has since come out and said that Wilson has never been late to a meeting. “UPDATE: OUR SOURCE(S) HAVE TOLD US THAT ZACH WILSON HAS NEVER BEEN LATE TO A MEETING,” tweeted McAfee about Wilson.
If what Schultz said was indeed true, then the Jets would be better off without their former first-round pick. Although it’s hard to believe that news since the Jets’ front office has already said that they will not give up on Zach Wilson after just two seasons.
