Jimmy Garoppolo is a well-known entity in the world of the NFL. After spending a few years with the New England Patriots, Jimmy was roped in by the 49ers in 2017, and till now, he is a part of the San Francisco-based franchise.

Jimmy had a rather disappointing season last time around and it felt like he’ll be traded to another franchise. However, a lot of teams were hesitant to go after Jimmy because of the untimely surgery that he had to undergo on his shoulder.

Earlier there were talks that the Panthers might be interested in roping Jimmy G into their unit, however, they ended up signing Baker Mayfield. Now, Cleveland Browns might be planning to go after Jimmy as they would be left high and dry if Deshaun Watson ends up getting banned.

However, amid all this, NFL Insider Dan Sileo, on the National Football Show, made some really big claims regarding where Jimmy G might end up ahead of the coming season. He reckons that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are showing interest in adding him to their roster as a backup for Tom Brady.

“Brady and Garoppolo text each other all the time and are friends. They have the same agent. Those two guys are in constant communication,” Sileo claimed, adding that if this eventually transpires, it would be a big slap to the face of Patriots coach Bill Belichick.

“This would be the ultimate slap in the face to Belichick if Brady retires and Garoppolo is the heir apparent, but they do it in Tampa and not New England. This was supposed to be the plan in New England, not in Tampa Bay,” claimed, adding that, “Garoppolo would go to Tampa as the backup and once Brady leaves, there’s Jimmy G with a ready-made team again like he had in San Francisco and in New England. It’s a no-brainer.”

It will be interesting to see where Jimmy finally ends up.
