Jalen Hurts is one of the improved players in the league this NFL Season. The dual-threat quarterback is playing at an MVP level and has led the Philadelphia Eagles to a double-digit winning season, making them Super Bowl contenders.
However, the fairy tale season has come to a halt due to some injuries to Hurts. The Eagles already suffered a brutal loss against their NFC East rival Dallas Cowboys after starting a backup quarterback because of Hurts’ injuries. Now it looks like the Philadelphia quarterback will miss another game when they face a tough and gritty New Orleans Saints in week 17.
Hurts missing games in this crucial time is not a good thing for the Eagles as they still have not won their NFC East division. The Eagles have to win at least one of their remaining two games to clinch their division and without Hurts, it will be a tough task to accomplish. Eagles HC Nick Sirianni told the media that Hurts is doubtful for their game against the Saints but he also told that there is still a lot of time remaining till the game and he hasn’t decided on who will be the starting QB in their week 17 game.
“We’re still sorting through that,” Sirianni told the media on Friday. “Obviously, Jalen had a good practice yesterday and went out and looked like he did some things really well. So still going to sort through all those things. Haven’t decided anything yet. We have a couple days. Still got time.”

Eagles QB Jalen Hurts’ MVP campaign takes a hit

The Philadelphia Eagles QB Jalen Hurts was playing at a high level and was a frontrunner for the NFL Most Valuable Player before he got injured, which led him to miss a game. And now, it looks like Hurts will miss another game which will give other MVP candidates a chance to better their chances for the MVP honor.
So far in this season, Hurts has accumulated 4,219 total yards and 35 total touchdowns, all while throwing just 5 interceptions. Hurts’ Eagles also have a 13-2 record and are likely to win the NFC East, which will improve Hurts’ chances of winning the MVP.
Another MVP candidate is the Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes, who has accumulated 5,041 total yards and 41 total touchdowns, but he has thrown 11 interceptions. His team has a strong record of 12-3 and has already clinched the AFC West division, which makes him the favorite to win the MVP award.
There are also a couple of other quarterbacks in the mix, but surprisingly, a wide receiver is also making a case to become the NFL MVP. The Minnesota Vikings star wideout Justin Jefferson is on pace to break the single-season receiving yards record. However, it is a QB-centred award and Jefferson will probably end up winning the Offensive Player of the Year award.
