Sanders then stepped down as Jackson State HC and was soon hired by Colorado Boulder to lead their team. The University of Colorado Boulder officially named the 55-year-old as the HC of their football program on Sunday.

The Boulders hope that Sanders can produce the same magic he did with Jackson State as they are currently in a precarious position concerning their season.

Sanders has an impressive record and has even caught the eye of Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, who showered praises on the former Jackson State HC.

Jones believes that Sanders can do even better at an NFL team, as he is highly capable and possesses a good knowledge of the game. The Cowboys owner appeared on the radio show 105.3, in Dallas and spoke highly of the Colorado Boulder HC.

“Deion is very capable of being a head coach in the National Football League,” Jones said on Friday on 105.3. “You couldn’t be talking to anybody that knows him any better than I do.”

“Deion Sanders has a little bit going for him when it comes to being able to be a coach. He is an outstanding — I’m just going to say he’s a great communicator and he’s a real leader of men.” Jones stated on 103.5.

Sanders is also extremely confident of his coaching abilities, as the HC was touted to join Florida State University before joining Jackson State in 2020. The 55-year-old was sure of his coaching capabilities and knew he can make some large-scale changes in the organization.

“I can make them a better team, and I know that, because I know the things that really need to be done there,” Sanders said at the time. “I put so much time into preparing every week for my Sunday job [in broadcasting], watching tape and talking to players and coaches.”
