The Dallas Cowboys have a rather challenging season ahead of them, usually, the team is considered to be the favorite to win the NFC East, however, this year is different as with a young Philadelphia Eagles team that is stacked with amazing talent. Though Dallas has quite the roster, their team is unable to make it all work in the postseason.

This year will be even harder for the team as they no longer have Amari Cooper, the team has to rely on CeeDee Lamb as their go-to wideout. In addition to this, their running back, Ezekiel Elliott has not been himself lately. He did not even rank in the NFL’s top 10 running backs list.

Jerry Jones believes the Dallas Cowboys do not stand a chance to win unless Ezekiel Elliott performs:

Zeke will need to redeem himself as a top RB in the league this season

The team’s owner Jerry Jones usually hypes up his squad before every season, he goes as far as to claim that the team will make the Super Bowl though, in the past 27 years, the team has been unable to reach there. Recently Jerry Jones spoke about the team’s season this year and seemed to be cautiously optimistic, that is a tone that we are not used to seeing from the owner.

“Ezekiel Elliott has to be the focus, he has to be the focal point. There is room for (Tony) Pollard while Zeke is in there,” Jones told NFL Network. Zeke has to be the solution for the Cowboys’ run game, if he does not perform like vintage Zeke, they do not stand a chance to win games.

Tony Pollard can also add quite a bit to that offense but since Zeke is in the best shape of his life, we expect him to play the best football of his life as well. Elliott got his money long back but he is yet to prove that he truly deserved all that money.
