Lamar Jackson has the potential to be one of the best QBs of this generation. The young Ravens QB is currently the best rushing QB in the league while also having a strong passing game. This partnership of two important skills makes him one of the deadliest QBs in the league. Therefore, it was quite surprising when Jackson didn’t get his desired contract with the Ravens and was instead franchise tagged with a mere amount of $32.4 million.
However, recently Jackson recently broke silence regarding his contract negotiations with the Ravens and confessed to getting an offer on the table. The Ravens QB confessed to getting an offer worth $133 million for 3 years, although the QB doesn’t have an agent and is represented by his mother.
“133/3years fully guaranteed? but I need a agent? ???♂️,” Lamar Jackson stated in a tweet. This reaction by the 26-year-old was inspired in retaliation to a reported $200 million deal offered by the Ravens some time ago. Twitter account named the Baltimore Beatdown claimed that Jackson turned down a $200 million deal in September and since then, everything has been going downhill for him.
Lamar Jackson has minimal interest from other teams
The Ravens have non-exclusively franchise tagged Lamar Jackson. The Ravens QB has no agent and therefore is handling all the negotiations by himself and has time until July 17 to secure a deal.
This has led to pure chaos and commotion, as many believe that the QB isn’t reasonable going into negotiations. However, what Jackson really desires is a fully guaranteed humongous contract like Browns‘ QB Deshaun Watson.
Regardless, if the Ravens are not offering him his desired contract, Jackson is free to negotiate with other teams. Unfortunately, recent revelations suggest that not many teams are interested in him and have openly denied having approached him.
This has completely baffled the masses as Lamar Jackson has the adequate skills to give the best QBs in the league a run for their money. Still, he is not getting his desired contract.
The future seems uncertain for Jackson, who is currently holding out for a better contract while being offered $133 million in fully guaranteed money.
