Jackson when asked whether there was a hard deadline for the negations responded- “Yeah, we coming up to it. It’s coming up. Season’s coming up. We’re going to be good for the season.” He also added that he had “no updates” regarding the status of the talks.

Asked if it’s fair to say Week 1 is a hard deadline, Jackson responded, “Yeah, for sure.” Jackson will become a free agent in March, if he and the Ravens can’t reach an agreement and many teams around the league would be interested to sign him.

The Baltimore-based franchise will face New York Jets in their season opener on September 11. A lot of things have been said about Lamar by various experts and fans but no one can deny that his presence is pivotal to the franchise. The Ravens fans would be desperately hoping for a deal to go through without much hassle.
