“He demands respect”: Eagles veteran Lane Johnson showers praise on Jalen Hurts, calls him a ‘Great Motivator’

Jalen Hurts and Lane Johnson

Jalen Hurts has made a name for himself at the highest level. One of the youngest quarterbacks in the NFL who has a lot of hype riding around him, Jalen faces a tough task ahead of him as he has to prove to the Philadelphia Eagles that they have indeed found a good quarterback who can take them to the Super Bowl.

The Eagles traded for receiver A.J. Brown from the Tennessee Titans and this has led to the formation of a formidable trio in Philly. Without a doubt, Jalen is extremely committed to his craft and a very hard worker. He has also established himself as a vocal leader in that locker room.

As it turns out, Eagles veteran Lane Johnson also opines that Hurts does has the ability to take the team to great heights. “He just carries himself with a lot of poise. I mean, he demands respect,” Johnson said about Hurts as reported by MJ Acosta-Ruiz of NFL Total Access.

Johnson claimed that Jalen actually motivates and inspires other players in the locker room which is fantastic for the team. “Just the way he approaches day-to-day activity, how he trains, what he does in the film room. And he’s a great motivator. He’s a great leader. He’s super behind the scenes, even during summer, he’s connecting with a lot of the guys. Lot of receivers. Doing 7-on-7.”

Lane also claimed that Hurts is indeed super excited to work with the new young guys that have been roped in by the Eagles. Commenting on the hype around Eagles’ chances to go big this season, Lane stated, “when it comes down to it, you have to approach every day with an aggressive mindset. You have to stay in the moment and not look too far ahead because when you do that teams can easily beat you. You can be easily beaten.”

Johnson agreed that his side has a fantastic bunch of players but at the end of the day, it all depends on how they deliver as a group on the big stage.
