Micah Parsons is known for his relentless tackling and immaculate game on the field. However, off the field, the 23-year-old is known for his candid valor and brutal take on various controversies.
The Cowboys defender recently spoke on the All-Pro team issue where he was bizarrely snubbed. After that, Parsons has given his honest take on the recent QB contract debate and it is outlandish.
The QB contracts have taken a sudden surge in recent times where QBs have been given humongous contracts that take up all the budget allotted in the salary cap.
This results in the GMs to make adjustments while signing other players in the team, ultimately resulting in a one-sided team with one good player and numerous average players.
However, Brandon Beane has an interesting theory on this issue. The Bills GM was disappointed after they lost to the Bengals in the divisional round. The Bills GM believes that the only reason the Bengals got a win is because of a rookie QB.
Rookie contracts cost considerably less than other contracts, this helps the team to be strong in all departments. The Bills don’t have this liberty as they have Josh Allen on a huge contract.
Cowboys’ Parsons also jumped in on the debate and acknowledged Beane’s theory while giving his take on it. The Cowboys LB also believes that rookie contracts play an important part in building an all-round team and the current playoff scenario is witness to that.
Micah Parsons points out an interesting detail about the current playoffs scenario
There are currently 4 teams left in the NFL playoffs including the Bengals, the 49ers, the Chiefs, and the Eagles. There’s something common between them except the Chiefs.
Micah Parsons stated that except for Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes, all the other teams have QBs that are on their rookie contracts. This has enabled the teams to be built accordingly as they hire great talent without worrying about the salary cap.
“Besides mahomes, every team in the final 4 Qb is on a rookie deal and surrounded by talent! Mhmm interesting take!” Parsons commented on Brandon Beane’s interesting take.
Patrick Mahomes is an obvious exception as he is currently the best QB in the league. This theory by Brandon Beane is interesting and also brings up the question of that is it necessary for NFL teams now to hire rookie QB’s so that they can win the Super Bowl.
