Micah Parsons is currently one of the best linebackers in the league and played an integral part in the Cowboys-Jaguars game. However, the Cowboys couldn’t get a win as the Jaguars sneaked away a win late in the fourth quarter.

The game had many controversial decisions, specifically in the 4th quarter. Parsons was furious at the challenge made on him late in the 4th quarter and decided to call out the referees for their inconsistent officiating.

The Cowboys were led by 3 points late in the 4th quarter. Parsons magically secured a fumble late in the game that would have guaranteed the win for the Cowboys. However, the Cowboys couldn’t hold on to the ball and Jaguars QB Trevor Lawrence came up with a game-winning drive in the dying minutes of the game.

According to Parsons, the referees missed a critical late call in the game. When the Cowboys’ LB secured the fumble, he was immediately tackled by the Jaguars’ defender. The 23-year-old took to Twitter to vent his frustration.

“Still no one talking bout this guy jumping on my neck?! But yet we can’t land on a quarterback!” Parsons wrote in a tweet. The controversial call was heavily debated on social media, where people had contradictory opinions.

Micah Parsons calls out the NFL for inconsistent double standards

Micah Parsons has always been active on social media and regularly speaks about the various issues in the country and the league. This time his target was the match officiators who seemingly have double standards when officiating.

The referees are supposedly more lenient towards the QBs and don’t give a clear foul to defenders. However, in Parsons’ case, it’s not yet known if the hit on him was really a foul or if the Cowboys’ LB is just going on a rant to cope with the defeat.

The ‘roughing the passer call’ has been under serious scrutiny this season as the QBs are getting an unfair advantage under that rule. The NFL has also recently considered ejection of players penalized for roughing the passer calls. This rule can have serious repercussions and can spark massive outrage in the media.

Micah Parsons and every other defender in the league put their life on the line to make critical tackles that often lead them to win the game. The referees need to adopt an equal outlook when officiating any game in the league.
