Michael Irvin must be the happiest man on the planet, as the Cowboys did the improbable on Christmas Eve. The Dallas-based team defeated the NFL Super Bowl contenders Philadelphia Eagles in spectacular fashion.

The Cowboys were just coming back from a horrible defeat against the Jaguars in OT. However, they didn’t let that loss falter their confidence in this battle between the Goliaths for the division title.

The Dallas Cowboys had to win the game if they still wanted to keep the division title race alive and they did just that. With an exceptional performance from QB Dak Prescott, the Cowboys sneaked in a win. The Cowboys fandom erupted after watching the game as everyone started the Christmas celebrations a bit early. However, the most excited was undoubtedly former Cowboys’ Michael Irvin who couldn’t stop praising his former team.

Irvin was all praises for the Cowboys’ offense who dropped 40 massive points on the best passing defense in the league. The Eagles were shell-shocked as Prescott ran riots around their defense.

“A 40 burger on the number one pass defense in the National Football League!” Irvin stated on ESPN’s First Take. “What I saw yesterday is the Cowboys saying, Hold Up! Not on my watch.”

The Dallas Cowboys surpassed all expectations after winning against the Eagles when they needed the most. Many thought that the men from Dallas will miserably fall to the Eagles as they were just coming from a loss. Instead, they did the opposite and dropped 40 points on them.

However, the Eagles were without their most lethal weapon, MVP candidate QB Jalen Hurts. Even without the presence of their star QB, the Eagles managed to drop 34 points on the Cowboys. This might make fans believe that the Cowboys are a bit weak in their defense compared to their offense. Although, it won’t matter now as the Cowboys have won and have all the bragging rights for the moment.

The Cowboys will be pushing for the division title as they are currently two games behind the Eagles with two games of their own left. It looks highly unlikely that the Eagles will lose the two games. Home-field advantage is really important during the playoffs and only division winners get that advantage. The Cowboys’ Super Bowl run will be extremely difficult without it, although not impossible.

Michael Irvin and all the other Cowboys fans have found a reason to rejoice for now as they face the Tennessee Titans in their next game, which is a must-win for them.
