“Piss Poor PR,” Mike Florio blasts Buccaneers for Tom Brady’s strange PR exercise

Tom Brady’s latest moves have been making waves all over the NFL world. The latest is his unexplained absence from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers which has the world curious and guessing for the reason for such an abrupt leave. Tom’s team the Tampa Bay Buccaneers haven’t helped the situation with the head coach and the GM manager only adding fuel to the fire.

The Bucs’ head coach Tod Bowles had informed the media that Brady’s absence was due to personal reasons and that Brady would return after the Bucs’ preseason game against the Tennessee Titans. Later Bucs’ GM Jason Licht reiterated that this is a pre-planned absence and he’s “not worried about it.” This raises the question of why the Bucs’ PR or management decided not to tell beforehand to make it seem less mysterious. All of this had senior NFL reporter Mike Florio triggered.

Florio on the show Pro Football Talk, said-“The whole thing about this is odd and unprecedented. …..And there’s something that just doesn’t add up…And there’s something about it that just seems usual. There’s something about it that just seems off… It may be… an issue of piss poor PR [where] they didn’t properly condition us to be ready for this. It invites a lot of ‘Hmm. well, you know. What’s going on here.

The whole matter is unprecedented for sure as there has never been someone as great as Tom Brady, especially at age 45 who has possibly achieved almost everything the league has to offer.

Florio added“I don’t want to know anything I’m not entitled to know. But they’ve let this happen in a way that gets a lot of people wondering what’s going on. It’s fair to ask what’s going on. It’s fair to say ‘it’s none of your business.’ But there had to have been a better way to do this so we all aren’t kind of like caught flat-footed when it happens on Thursday.”
