Ezekiel Elliott was considered as one of the best RBs in the league a few seasons ago. However, consistent disappointing performances led to him being released by the Dallas Cowboys.
This was a surprising move from Dallas, as they have put all their faith in the young RB Tony Pollard. Although Zeke was released by the Cowboys unceremoniously, it was heavily believed that he won’t have a hard time finding a new team due to his great personal stats in the NFL.
The 3-time Pro Bowler suffered several injuries last season and was also heavily out of form when he got a chance to play for his team. However, after leaving the Cowboys, Zeke has shown massive interest in joining their rivals, the Philadelphia Eagles.
Recently, Eagles HC Nick Sirianni was asked about the possibility of Elliott joining the Eagles. The HC gave a candid response to the whole situation and implied that he is happy with the RBs he currently has.
“We feel really good about the room as it is right now,” Nick Sirianni stated via Jeff Kerr from the CBS. Many thought it was a brutal response as Sirianni savagely squashed all the rumors of Ezekiel Elliott possibly joining the Eagles.
Clearly Sirianni is not interested in signing the RB as the Eagles have quite recently signed a few quality RBs along with resigning the reliable ones. The Eagles now have 4 reliable RB options and will look like possible contenders for Super Bowl yet again next season.
Ezekiel Elliott will be looking to make a big impact this offseason
The Cowboys releasing Ezekiel Elliott was a bit insulting for the talented RB, who had been one of their best players for several seasons in a row. However, this can also turn out well for the RB as he won’t have any problems landing a new team.
Elliott is surely going to have interest from many teams in the NFL. However, he will be looking to sign for the team where he can make the most impact while also challenging for silverware.
The Cincinnati Bengals are turning out to be the top destination where Ezekiel Elliott will offer his services. The team has a great offense led by the young prodigy Joe Burrow and is firmly considered as Super Bowl contenders next season.
