Patrick Mahomes is currently on the high of winning the Super Bowl last season. However, that high came with a terrible fall when his younger brother Jackson, was arrested earlier this year for forcibly kissing a woman.

Jackson was arrested and charged with three counts of aggravated sexual battery and one count of misdemeanor. Suddenly the NFL MVP winner was in the limelight yet again for all the wrong reasons.

Many started to ask Mahomes questions regarding his views on the situation. However, this was the first time that the Kansas City Chiefs QB came in front of the reporters during the OTA’s.

Mahomes had no option but to answer the question about his brother’s currently lawsuit and he answered it in the most diplomatic way possible. “Honestly, it’s kind of a personal thing that I just kind of gotta keep to myself,” Patrick Mahomes stated.

“I think that’s a process everyone has to navigate in life. Obviously, I’m on a bigger stage, but at the same time, it’s your family. But you have to come in here and do a job, and that’s what I try to do every day.”

Jackson Mahomes was arrested in the month of February and since then the family has been under increased scrutiny. Jackson himself had a decent following on Twitter and was very active with his upload schedule. However, he has been inactive since his arrest as his family looks navigate his problems.

Patrick Mahomes is solely focusing on football

With the start of the voluntary OTA’s, the offseason has officially ended as many teams look to build a new philosophy and game plan for the next season. Patrick Mahomes is done with his vacation and has focused wholly on playing football next season. The Chiefs QB also shared the desire to the reporters.

“At the end of the day, I come here to play football and try to take care of my family at the same time,” Mahomes said. “So just kind of keep it to myself and just go out there and play football when I’m in the building.”

The Chiefs QB is also up for a new contract amidst talks of the Cincinnati BengalsJoe Burrow getting a new extension. However, Patrick Mahomes has clearly stated that he believes in winning more Super Bowls compared to getting more money in the bank. The QB also stated that he has all the money that he needs, now it’s time to win some trophies.
