Patrick Mahomes did the unthinkable and won the second Super Bowl of his career without an established WR in the Kansas City Chiefs roster. The Chiefs were expected to fail this season and not even qualify for the playoffs.
However, the young prodigy had something else in mind and became the first person in 20 years to win the NFL Super Bowl, as well as the Super Bowl MVP winner. This was an extraordinary feat by the QB, who is currently the best player in the league and is touted to be the next GOAT, even surpassing the great Tom Brady.
Mahomes will have to be consistent throughout his career to challenge the GOAT and the Chiefs will also have to improve offensively. With WR JuJu-Smith Schuster and Mecole Hardman leaving as free agents, the Kansas-based team will have to find reinforcements pretty quickly if they want to challenge for the Lombardi Trophy again. However, they won’t have to go through much trouble, as it is reported that many NFL free agents are texting Mahomes to join the Chiefs after the QB won the Super Bowl.
The news was reported by NFL reporter James Palmer, who conveyed that many players have reached out to Mahomes and have shared their desire to join the Chiefs.
“It doesn’t mean they’re done looking. It doesn’t mean also that other wide receivers, I’m told, are not blowing up Patrick Mahomes’ phone,” James Palmer stated. “It’s my understanding guys have been calling him this entire offseason saying, ‘Can I come to Kansas City? Can I come and play with you guys?’ Like, that is a real thing that is happening.”

The Chiefs have won their second Super Bowl in the Andy Reid-Patrick Mahomes era and it feels like there are many more to come. The Chiefs have a great squad with Mahomes and Kelce establishing a great partnership in the offense.
Nonetheless, they will need a quality WR to complete their offense and the Chiefs have many options on their platter currently. It seems like they can get any WR they want to, as they are the best team in the league.
The Chiefs were also present during Odell Beckham Jr‘s recent practice session and it is also speculated that they will be in the race to sign him as well. However, if that doesn’t work out, then there are many quality WRs who would love to join the Super Bowl-winning side and add to their spectacular trophy collection.
