Rob Gronkowski can be comfortably called one of the great of the game due to his monstrous contribution. The retired TE is considered one of the best in his position and has won multiple Super Bowls throughout his tenure.

Currently, the former New England Patriots TE is enjoying his retirement and has ventured into the broadcasting space with Fox Sports. With the new season just around the corner, the NFL came up with several rule changes that have had conflicting reviews.

One of these rule changes is the new 25-yard line rule. The new fair catch rule will automatically start the team at the 25-yard line after the kickoff. Previously, the game started where the catch was made. The new rule was strictly called out by Kansas City Chiefs HC Andy Reid, who believes that game has been evolving a lot and its beauty is being taken away.

“My thing is, where does it stop, right? … You don’t want to take too many pieces away and you’ll be playing flag football,” Andy Reid stated. Gronkowski agrees with Reid’s assessment and called out the league for their absurd rule change.

The legendary TE believes that the new rules are ridiculous and that the league is going too far with these adjustments. Gronkowski was featured on the Up & Adams Show and went on a lengthy rant.

“If the ball goes in the endzone, you can just take a knee and be at the 25-yard line. But you’ve got to be able to play football at some point. I mean that’s why you have the kick-off, you might as well take the kick-off totally out of the game then and just have the team start at the 25-yard line,” Rob Gronkowski stated on the show.

In the quest to make the game more interesting and entertaining, the NFL is making widespread rules to the game. They are also doing this to make the games easy to understand. However, Rob Gronkowski is strictly against it and wants the game to stay the way it is.

The game is complicated already enough and these new rules will make it even more complicated. The fair catch rule will be implemented by the start of the next season and then it will be seen in action.

Till then, Rob Gronkowski can just hope for the best and believe that the game will be as beautiful as before. On the other hand, the NFL has also made changes regarding the new flexible scheduling and has faced a lot of flak because of it.
