Saquon Barkley‘s 5-year-old daughter, Jada, loves to chat with her dad. The 27-year-old shared one of his baby girl’s innocent stories during a car interview while moving down Interstate 95.

Brakley recently switched allegiances from the New York Giants to bitter rivals the Philadelphia Eagles last week. Her cheerful presence lit up the Eagles press room when he was officially unveiled as their designated No. 1 running back.

Even though it’s a new beginning for Barkley and his family, there are always some old, memorable moments that keep popping up, no matter how much he tries to forget. One such incident involves Jada, who was only 4 when the Giants lost to the Eagles in the playoffs back in January 2023.

While sitting in the backseat of the car, Barkley revealed that after the loss, he went to a local restaurant, where Jada got excited to see a bird and thought the Eagles were coming.

She knows there’s a lot of history with the Eagles. When I was with the Giants and we lost to Philly [the Philadelphia Eagles] in the playoffs, we went to a diner to get some breakfast, and there was a bird, and she pointed to the bird and said, ‘It’s the Eagles, it’s the Eagles.
Barkley grinned, remembering the ‘funny story.

Curious, Jada wanted to know: would dad Saquon Barkley win with the Eagles?

The Penn State graduate will resume his journey in the NFL with hopes of making it big and receiving some backup, unlike with the Giants.

Last season, he single-handedly carried the team, recording more than 1200 overall yards and scoring 10 touchdowns. It was miles off his most prolific 2022 campaign when he notched close to 1700 overall yards and 10 touchdowns. 

Contract disputes resulted in his impending departure from East Rutherford Road in New Jersey. Following the 2022 season, the Giants franchise tagged Barkley, forcing him to stay for one extra year. However, they had no choice but to release him once the 2023 season ended because of the limited salary cap space.

After the announcement of Barkley’s signing with the Eagles.

Hopefully. Hopefully, we are gonna win some more games [in Philly].
To which he replied

On March 11, Saquon Barkley signed a 3-year, $37 million deal with the Philadelphia Eagles. Per Spotrac, he will receive $11,625,000 as a signing bonus, $26,000,000 guaranteed, and an average annual salary of $12,583,333. Furthermore, he will earn a base salary of $1,375,000, a signing bonus of $11,625,000, and a workout bonus of $250,000.
