“Send half of his paycheck to Tom Brady,” Shannon Sharpe BASHES Josh McDaniels for benching Derek Carr, also blames him for Raiders’ abysmal season

Derek Carr and Shannon Sharpe and Josh McDaniels
The Las Vegas Raiders might be in the market for a new quarterback this off-season since all signs point towards them trading Derek Carr away. Carr was drafted as the 36th overall pick by the Raiders in the 2014 NFL draft and has played as their franchise quarterback for the last nine years.
Derek Carr and the Raiders are having a horrible season even after trading for the star wide receiver Davante Adams and hiring former Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels as their new coach. The Raiders’ chances of making a playoff appearance this season became slim to none after their loss against the Pittsburgh Steelers in week 16 of the NFL regular season.
Carr threw three interceptions which cost the Raiders the game against the Steelers. The QB is leading the league in interceptions with 14 picks and has been awful all season long. As a result of this, the Raiders decided to bench Carr in favor of the backup quarterback Jarrett Stidham for their remaining two games. Carr has stepped away from the team indefinitely since he was informed of this news.
The decision to bench Derek Carr has gotten some mixed reactions from fans and experts around the league. While some believe it was right to bench Carr, many others including Hall Of Fame tight end Shannon Sharpe believe the new HC Josh McDaniels deserves more blame than Carr for ruining a playoff team in his first year.

Shannon Sharpe blames Josh McDaniels

Former Denver Broncos TE Shannon Sharpe believes Josh McDaniels is not a good head coach, and he has caused a distraction in the Raiders camp by benching Derek Carr. Speaking on his show UNDISPUTED with Skip Bayless, Sharpe criticized Josh McDaniels for the Raiders’ awful season by pointing out his previous head coaching stint with the Broncos that stunk.
Sharpe also pointed out McDaniels’ failures as an offensive coordinator without Tom Brady as his quarterback. “When he was offensive coordinator for the Rams, how (did) he look?” asked Sharpe, before calling McDaniels a product of Tom Brady’s system.
“Tom Brady made him, and it seems to be without Tom Brady. He’s absolutely nothing,” added Sharpe. “Whatever he’s making, he needs to send half of that paycheck to Tom Brady.”
Sharpe also acknowledged Carr’s average play throughout his career by saying that he’s not going to excuse Carr because he has been really bad at points and times this year, but also noted that Carr has never played with a top-ranked defense.
Derek Carr just signed a 3-year $121,500,000 contract with the Raiders earlier this year, but now they would be looking to trade the quarterback away in hopes of getting something in return for him.
