The Cincinnati Bengals have advanced to their second straight AFC Championship after crushing the Buffalo Bills at home who entered the season as Super Bowl favorites. The Bengals have really turned their franchise around all thanks to Joe Burrow who has led them to a 10-game winning streak.

Trash-talking is a common practice in every sport and more so in the NFL, but Cincinnati’s cornerback Eli Apple took it a bit too far last week. He kept on trolling the players, including Josh Allen and Stefon Diggs, who were involved in a sideline spat. He also tweeted: “Cancun on 3” on Diggs’ rant on Twitter.

Even Mike Hilton dubbed the Arrowhead Stadium as ‘Burrowhead’ into an NFL Films camera ahead of the team’s AFC Championship matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs. Joe Burrow is 3-0 against Patrick Mahomes, which led Hilton and others to coin it Burrowhead.

Skip Bayless discussed the Bengals’ defensive stars, talking a big game ahead of the AFC title game on Undisputed. “I don’t have a problem with Eli Apple and Mike Hilton talking big, bad, and bold the way they do. Here’s my point about them. They know they are speaking from a position of strength because they know it’s all about the quarterback and they know they have a quarterback,” Skip said.

“He doesn’t play defense, they play defense. But they are speaking sort of with him as their backup because they know we got Joe Burrow and you don’t got Joe Burrow.” Skip talked about Eli Apple and pointed out that he talks back or responds more often than talking and making the first move. He also said that Apple has received a lot of criticism in his entire career and has bounced from one team to another before rising to prominence in Cincinnati.

Eli Apple had hell rained down on him after he failed to cover star receiver of the Los Angeles Rams, Cooper Kupp, who caught a touchdown that resulted in the Bengals losing Super Bowl LVI. He had a quiet season this year as he recorded only 14 tackles in the eight games he played, which had people saying that Apple doesn’t have the numbers backing up his trash talk.

With all the big talks, the Bengals should win otherwise social media will eat them alive for being ‘all talk and no game’ in the AFC Championship. 2022 MVP favorite and Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes might miss the game as he suffered a high-ankle injury last week. With Burrow’s undefeated record against the Chiefs, they are clearly favored to win by betters. Let’s see if the Bengals can defend the Lamar Hunt Trophy or if they get defeated by the Chiefs as revenge for last year’s loss!
