Renowned TV personality Skip Bayless was one of the happiest and most excited people momentarily after the Cowboys defeated the Eagles in week 15 to stay alive in contention for the NFC East division. The Dallas Cowboys edged past divisional rivals Philadelphia Eagles 40-34 after an inspired fourth quarter from the offense led by quarterback Dak Prescott.
The Cowboys came back from a 10-point deficit twice in the game. The Eagles scored the game’s first 10 points and led 27-17 in the third quarter but the Cowboys somehow managed to come back each time. Bayless, who is a huge Cowboys fan has been saying for weeks that his team will bring their best against the Eagles and they did exactly that. Needless to say, they did exactly that and Bayless couldn’t keep his excitement.
He was actively tweeting during the game and his emotions could be felt through his tweets. In the end, he lauded the team and said that they are exactly who he thought they are. He said that the team is loaded with star power and firepower and is a team to look at in the coming few weeks.
“THE DALLAS COWBOYS ARE WHO I THOUGHT (AND KEPT SAYING) THEY ARE — LOADED WITH STARPOWER AND FIREPOWER, A POSTSEASON FORCE TO BE RECKONED WITH,” Bayless tweeted.
Bayless was particularly impressed with the Cowboys’ defense. Despite missing their main QB Jalen Hurts, the Eagles are one of the best offensive teams in the league and to hold them in the way they did was impressive. “One great thing about my Cowboys defense: It came into this game leading the NFL in takeaways. It took the ball away from the Eagles FOUR MORE TIMES. That was the essence of this victory,” he added.
Skip Bayless believes that the Cowboys will defeat the Eagles once again in the playoffs
The Cowboys and the Eagles have both qualified for the playoffs and are among the best teams in the league right now. It is very likely that they will meet in the playoffs again and as things stand, an NFC Championship Game can also be on the cards.
Bayless predicted that maybe the Eagles and the Cowboys will meet in the NFC Championship Game and once again, the Cowboys will get the better of the team from Philadelphia. “NFC Championship Game, here we come. Hey, Eagles. Maybe we’ll see you again this season. We will win again.” he tweeted.
The Cowboys and the Eagles are currently battling against each for divisional supremacy. With a 13-2 record, the Eagles are at the top of the NFC East division while with 11-4 for the season, the Cowboys are in second place. The Eagles just need one win to secure the division while the Cowboys need to win all their remaining matches and hope that the Eagles lose all of theirs in order to clinch the division.
