It’s that time of the year again when people complain about the players playing cautiously in the “meaningless” Pro Bowl game. However, this year the league made some changes to its Pro Bowl format after receiving massive backlash last year. They changed the traditional yet no-hard-contact football game to a flag football game. But it seems like the LA Rams’ CB Jalen Ramsey didn’t get the memo as he laid a heavy hit on the Dolphins’ WR Tyreek Hill during the game.
During the 7-on-7 game between the best players from the AFC and the NFC, the Baltimore Ravens QB Tyler Huntley dropped back to throw the pass to the Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams who felt the heat from the NFC defenders and threw the lateral to his AFC teammate Tyreek Hill. And then Hill got leveled by the NFC DB Jalen Ramsey.
However, on the replay, it looks like the seventh-year cornerback couldn’t control his moment and accidentally leveled the Dolphins’ star wideout. So the hit wasn’t anything ill-intentioned and Hill knows it. He took it to social media to joke about the whole thing and reduced the tension. “This suppose to be flag meanwhile I’m getting de-cleated,” Hill tweeted.
Hill then continued to hilariously mock Ramsey by making a connection to their previous beef. “Ramsey being shots at me ever since the return specialist comment,” tweeted Hill. Back in 2018, When Ramsey was with the Jacksonville Jaguars, he called Hill a “return specialist” as an insult after Hill made it to the All-Pro team in his rookie year as a return specialist.
Social media Jalen Ramsey leveling Tyreek Hill in the Pro Bowl game
The NFL fans on social media have mixed reactions to Jalen Ramsey‘s heavy hit on the Miami Dolphins receiver Tyreek Hill. Some people believed that Ramsey just couldn’t control his momentum, which resulted in him colliding with Hill, and others believe it was an intentional hard hit from the 28-year-old cornerback. However, a lot of people didn’t complain about the hit since it was the hardest hit they’ve seen in a Pro Bowl game in a long time.
The NFC coached by the former Giants QB Eli Manning ended up winning both the flag football games against the Peyton Manning-coached AFC. So with these two victories, the NFC went on to win the entire event with a score tally of 35-33 against the AFC in the 2023 Pro Bowl.
