Mike White has decided to move on from New York and has found a new home in the city of Miami. The QB has just signed for the Dolphins amidst Aaron Rodgers’ trade drama.
White is one of the most reliable backup QBs in the NFL. The 27-year-old was highly critical for the Jets last season and helped them a lot when QB Zach Wilson was in terrible form or out injured.
However, his journey with the Jets has ended and the QB will fight for the top spot at the Dolphins now. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, White has agreed to sign a two-year deal with the Dolphins worth around $16 million.
White grew up in Florida and even played some of the collegiate football in Florida. Now the QB will play competitively for the Dolphins. Although his role isn’t clearly defined, it’s safe to assume that he will be the backup QB behind the injury-prone Tua Tagovailoa.
Tua is a great young QB, however, he is small in physical stature and gets injured pretty quickly. Maybe that’s the reason HC Mike McDaniel went for White to provide some stability to their offense with a reliable backup QB. Nonetheless, social media took the news in different ways and started asking questions regarding Tua’s future with the Dolphins while also calling out Miami fans.

Mike White‘s signing for the Dolphins was an unusual signing, and no one saw it coming. Not even the Dolphins’ fans, who now believe that Tua’s position is in danger after the signing of the 27-year-old QB.
Social media had a dubious reaction to the whole situation as they pointed out that White wasn’t the ideal signing and the Dolphins should have gone for Jacoby Brissett instead. On the other hand, there were also some who applauded White’s signing and believe that the QB will provide the much-needed stability to the Dolphins’ offense.
NFL Twitter had different reactions from loving the new signing to absolutely hating White for signing with the Dolphins. Take a look at some of the most interesting reactions down below.
The Dolphins mean serious business after signing Mike White and will look to challenge in the playoffs with a reinvigorated squad. The Miami, but-based team had injury concerns last season, but it seems like they are solved with the addition of the former Jets QB.
