On February 1, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady announced that he will be retiring from football for the second time. Following his retirement, many people started to wonder when he will start his broadcasting career with Fox since he signed a 10-year contract with them on March 2022. And now, the former Patriots QB has revealed his future plan for his broadcasting debut.
As per the initial report, sources close to Brady had already revealed that he will not rush to get back to work since now he just wants to spend time with his children and be a part of their daily lives. Furthermore, he regularly attends his son’s high school football games every week to watch him play. The 45-year-old was also seen touring a private school in Miami for his daughter’s education.
And now, with his appearance on The Herd with Colin Cowherd, Brady himself has revealed when he’s gonna start his broadcasting career with Fox network. “I think for me, I want to be great at what I do. Even talking last week with the people at Fox Sports and the leadership there allowing me to start my Fox opportunity in the fall of 2024 is something that’s great for me,” said Brady about his broadcasting debut.
Now, does Brady postponing his broadcasting career mean he’s still thinking about a return to the game? Maybe or maybe not. But the former Buccaneers QB has different reasons for the long wait before he can make his debut as a sports commentator.
Tom Brady needs more time to learn before he starts his new career
The Buccaneers legend Tom Brady is known for his obsession with being perfect and winning. However, his obsession doesn’t only stop with being good at football, he’s obsessed with being really good at everything he does and that’s why he needs time before he can start a new career.
“Take some time to really learn, become great at what I want to do, become great at thinking about the opportunity and making sure I don’t rush into anything,” said Brady.“I think my biggest motivator was that. Even in the future, I want to be great at what I do and that always takes some time and strategizing and learning and growing, and evolving. I have so many people to rely on that can support me in that growth too.”
Regardless, after all the things the legendary quarterback has done in the sport of football for the past 23 years, the seven-time Super Bowl Champion does deserve some rest before he can start another job.
