Spanish football league, La Liga once again brought up one of the worst aspects of society, the evident question of discrimination more specifically – Racism. Real Madrid forward, Vinicius Jr. was on the receiving end of numerous racist comments from fans inside the stadium.

Real Madrid were in action against bitter rivals, Valencia at the Mestalla Stadium and the home fans, pounced on every opportunity they got to direct racist remarks towards Vinicius Jr. The No.20 also did not hold himself back and engaged in multiple conversations with members of the crowd, as he seemed to identify those fans who were making disgusting gestures to go along with the chants.

The match ended with Vinicius Jr. seeing a red card for getting into a scuffle with the Valencia players during the dying minutes, as Real Madrid stared down the barrel. The incident has since then taken a vicious turn with the Brazilian forward taking direct jibes at the Spanish fans, while also labeling Spain as a “racist country.”

Brazilian President, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, also made it clear that he will provide his unwavering support towards the footballer, in a strong statement against the Spanish authorities.

Vinicius Jr. put out a series of stories alongside a lengthy video on his official Instagram account, which clearly depicts how the fans abused him racially. In his fight against racism, an issue that has plagued all aspects of life globally, Vinicius received the support of former Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady.

The recently retired superstar, commented on the video with a couple of heart emojis joining an elite list of personalities who have already shown their support for the Brazilian prodigy. It is also interesting to note that, like many, Vinicius is also a huge Brady fan, and has shown his love for the quarterback multiple times on social media in the past.

From posting pictures of Brady’s jerseys during his time at the New England Patriots to labeling him as the GOAT, the Brazilian has done it all, and it would definitely mean a huge deal for him to see that TB12 has shown his support towards him. Brady is a huge follower of football and now that he has more time on his hands post-retirement, he is more vocal about important social causes.
