The Kansas City Chiefs led by their star QB Patrick Mahomes and tight end Travis Kelce defeated the Philadelphia Eagles in the Super Bowl game to win the third-ever ring in their franchise’s history. And now, the Chiefs were honored by United States President Joe Biden at a White House event earlier this week for winning the Super Bowl.
During this time-long tradition, the Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes and TE Travis Kelce presented Joe Biden with a customized Chiefs jersey following some speeches. After that moment, Kelce took the opportunity to jump on the open mic and started speaking. Kelce began to say, “I’ve always wanted to do this…,” before the 2022 league MVP Mahomes ushered him out of the podium and shut down his speech in a hilarious moment.
And now, a few days after the hilarious incident, the All-Pro tight end has revealed what he was going to say at the open mic while Joe Biden was distracted. During a recent episode of the Kelce brothers’ The New Heights podcast, Travis revealed that he just wanted to address the public in a similar way Biden does during his press conference.
“Obviously the president at the podium, it’s iconic, right? And how he usually addresses the nation to ‘my fellow Americans’. That’s all I wanted to say, dude,” said Kelce. “That’s it. I just wanted to go up there. I shouldn’t have started off with ‘I’ve always wanted to do this.'”

Travis Kelce slams the NFL over new rule changes
During the annual league meetings last month, the NFL owners approved the new rule change that will allow teams to dress up a 3rd quarterback without wasting a roster spot.
According to the emergency QB rule, the 3rd QB will only be allowed to play if both QBs are injured and couldn’t able to continue in the game. This rule change comes after the San Francisco 49ers lost both of their QBs to injuries in the NFC Championship game and were forced to play an injured Brock Purdy for the rest of the game.
This new QB rule has enraged a lot of people, including the 2-time Super Bowl Champion Travis Kelce. The talented tight end called the new rule stupid and bulls**t. Furthermore, he also slammed the new fair catch rule that suggests the play can start at the 25-yard line irrespective of where the fair catch was called behind the 25-yard line.
Kelce claims it will take the excitement out of the kickoff returns. Nevertheless, the new rules have been approved by the NFL team owners and will be implemented in the upcoming 2023 season.
