Chicago Bears had a horrendous campaign in the 2022/23 season, which was also the first under head coach Matt Eberflus. The Bears finished 4th in the NFC North division with a 3-14 record.

Despite the franchise’s disastrous season, if there was one beaming light for them, it was the performance of second-year quarterback Justin Fields. The 23-year-old had a breakthrough season for the Bears as he became the third quarterback in NFL history to rush for 1,000 yards along with breaking a franchise record in the same category.

His own performances aside, he received hardly any support from his offensive players and thus the Bears had that type of season. After a final game week defeat against the Minnesota Vikings and other results elsewhere, the Bears managed to grab the first overall pick in the 2023 NFL draft.

The Bears decided to trade their number one draft pick to the Carolina Panthers in exchange for wide receiver D. J. Moore. The deal also included other draft picks, all of which the Bears can use to build their offensive stocks for the upcoming season.

This strategic move from the franchise has received major backing from popular NFL analyst Dan Orlovsky. The former NFL quarterback made a bold prediction in regard to this particular decision that Justin Fields will be a probable MVP candidate next season if the Bears are able to provide him with the required resources.

“Justin Fields will play MVP level football for the next two seasons,” Orlovsky said on ESPN’s Get Up. “And that’s what the Bears believe in, this trade helps that.”I like the trade for both places. Carolina needed to jump, and now Justin Fields has a chance.”

“I would argue that like he’s had the worst situation in the NFL to work with,” Orlovsky said. “And I understand that you point out 140 sacks interceptions and the turnovers or whatever the how many of those are sacks. Of course, he was sacked a ton. It was the worst offensive line in football. Now he has competent help around him.”

Orlovsky also pointed out the fact that there are going to be comparisons made between Fields and Jalen Hurts or Josh Allen, both of whom are well-established quarterbacks. To back up his claim, he argued that Justin Fields did have a better start to his NFL career than either of those two and has huge potential ready to be unlocked.

“I would pose this question, because everyone is going to correlate this situation to Jalen Hurts. I’d also correlate this situation to Josh Allen in Buffalo,” Orlovsky said. “Who was more impressive their first two years in the NFL as players in the NFL? Justin Fields and Jalen Hurts? Justin Fields and Josh Allen?

“Who’s been more impressive their first two years in the NFL? Justin Fields and what he did with what he had is actually more impressive then the first two years of Jalen Hurts’ career or the first two years of Josh Allen’s career. And then both those teams said, ‘We’re going to get you help’ and look at those two players blossomed into.

However, fans on Twitter did not agree with Dan Orlovsky’s views and trolled the former quarterback. Here are some of the best tweets against Orlovsky –
