Memphis Grizzlies all star guard, Ja Morant is currently the subject of a major controversy in the sporting world, after a video emerged of him on social media. The 23-year-old up and coming NBA star posted a video himself in which he appeared in a strip club.
Morant livestreamed the video of him holding a gun inside a strip club on his Instagram account. The incident is all the more shocking, considering the fact that Ja Morant is considered one of the better players coming up through the NBA ranks and is a role model to numerous kids.
Morant’s video surfaced early Saturday morning, after the Grizzlies suffered a 113-97 defeat against the Denver Nuggets. The video has gained huge traction over the past week, with Morant getting criticized brutally by fans and analysts alike for his irresponsible behavior.
While the general narrative hasn’t been good for Ja Morant, he has earned support from the sports community in a recent development. Miami Dolphins wide receiver, Tyreek Hill, who is no stranger to controversy himself, came out and supported Morant amidst his recent struggles.

Hill posted a six word message for Ja Morant on his official Twitter account after fans shared pictures from the strip club video all over the Internet. Tyreek Hill did not approve of this, urging them not to overdo things. “Y’all going to far with this,” Hill wrote after sharing a remark from one of the Twitter accounts.
Ja Morant issued a statement of his own after the video came to light, stating that he would take time off the game to get himself better in dealing with stress situations. The statement read, “I take full responsibility for my actions last night.“
“I’m sorry to my family, teammates, coaches, fans, partners, the city of Memphis and the entire Grizzlies organisation for letting you down. I’m going to take some time away to get help and work on learning better methods of dealing with stress and my overall well-being.”
Meanwhile, the Memphis Grizzlies have suspended Ja Morant for atleast six games, a number which has increased from the initial two games. This came in after a New York Post report claimed that Morant had spent almost $50,000 in cash as tips. The publication also revealed new images of him getting a lap dance.
