“Patrick Mahomes is on a Different Level,” Tyreek Hill compliments his former QB and totally denies ever throwing shade at him, gives him an edge over Tua Tagovailoa

Tyreek Hill and Patrick Mahomes have played together for almost six years in Kansas City, where the duo was terrorizing the whole league before Tyreek decided to go play for the Miami Dolphins. After leaving the Chiefs, Tyreek was antagonized by the media for complementing his new quarterback, Tua Tagovailoa. “Tua has one of the prettiest balls I’ve ever caught,” said Hill in conversation with ProFootballTalk.

Tyreek Hill has since come out and given some clarifications about his previous comments. Speaking on Shannon Sharpe’s weekly podcast Club Shay Shay, Hill said that he was not trying to accomplish anything with that comment. He went on to compliment his former quarterback, saying that Patrick Mahomes is on a different level and he’s going to be special no matter who plays receiver for him.

He further explained his previous comments by saying that his whole thing was just how every quarterback is good at something. “Pat has the strong arm, he’s accurate but, what I’ve seen with Tua is, he may not have the strongest arm, but just know when you turn, that ball will be there in the center of your chest,” said Hill. Tyreek Hill also said he’s not throwing shade at anybody and he loves Patrick like a brother. It’s just the media that takes this stuff and runs with it.

While Tyreek might be having a problem with phrasing his compliments, he certainly does not have a problem catching passes on the field. The speedster is having an All-Pro season with the Dolphins and will look to continue his form this weekend when his team will face their division rivals, Buffalo Bills.

Tyreek Hill and Patrick Mahomes were one of the best quarterback-receiver duos in the National Football League. When the duo was separated in the 2022 off-season, everybody in the league expected one or the other to have less success than their previous seasons. But to everyone’s surprise, both of them are having historic seasons.

After 13 games, Patrick Mahomes has thrown for 4,160 yards and 33 TDs and is projected to throw for 5440 Yards, which would be his single-season record. He is also an MVP front-runner. While Tyreek has caught 100 passes for 1,460 yards and 6 TDs and is projected to catch 131 passes for 1909 yards, which would be his single-season record.

It’s rare to see two good players who terrorized the league for years together get separated and somehow play better than in their previous seasons.
