Matt LaFleur acknowledged that they had a need for wide receivers in the draft but they were not going to take players just for the sake of it. He added that he was satisfied with whom they got and that they are great football players and human beings.

Well I mean I think you saw what happened, a lot of those wide receivers went early. Obviously we knew we had a need for wide receivers but you can’t force the issue. And I think we did a great job you know just being patient and knowing there are some other guys who we are very intrigued with. And I was super excited when we got those two guys [Wyatt and Walker]”, he said.

Rich Eisen then questioned Matt LaFleur one whether Aaron Rodgers ‘give his 2 cents’ on whom to draft in the wide receiver position and LaFleur said that they did have a talk with Rodgers about it.

Yeah you know we talk to him about it. And ultimately I think there’s certainly a lot of trust on his part that we’re going to try and go get the best players available and we did that given the circumstances.”
