It’s been a week since the Cowboys’ humiliating defeat and they are still the topic of conversation. Dallas Cowboys suffered a -horrific loss of 17-23 to San Fransico 49ers after the last-minute fiasco by the game umpire. The Cowboys blamed the officials for their Wild Card defeat.

However, many analysts have said that even if the umpire hadn’t bumped into Dak Prescott, it wouldn’t have guaranteed a Cowboys win. Even former Cowboys legend, Troy Aikman is extremely disappointed with the Cowboys.

Troy Aikman, 3x Super Bowl Champion and Hall of Famer, talked about the Cowboys’ management which. “Changing the coach is one thing, but you have to look at how things are run out there (The Star). I talk to people in the building and from what I hear is that there’s a lot of dysfunction,” Aikman said on 96.7 The Ticket this week.

Aikman said that it doesn’t matter how a team performs in the regular season. If the team doesn’t win in the playoffs, it’s all been for nothing. Aikman was so disappointed with the Cowboys that he compared them to two of the worst teams of the league.

“If you don’t do anything in the postseason, then you’re really at the end of the day, no different than the Jacksonville Jaguars or the New York Jets that didn’t get in (to the playoffs),” Aikman said.

Head Coach Mike McCarthy has received a lot of heat after the Cowboys’ premature exit from the playoffs. He has been criticized for his last-second controversial play of running the ball rather than throwing it. McCarthy’s management style has also been called into question by fans and analysts alike.

Cowboys’ star WR Ceedee Lamb had single coverage on him for most of the game. Aikman was furious when McCarthy and the players didn’t capitalize on this opportunity. “The coach is held accountable for everything, but I think the players also are responsible for that,” Aikman said. “Those are difficult conversations because unless you’re in the building, you don’t know exactly what’s tolerated and what’s allowed.”

Despite having the highest-paid quarterback in the league and a star-studded roster, Dallas Cowboys were one and done in the playoffs this year. The Cowboys will be working hard on themselves and look back on their mistakes in the offseason so that they can bounce back harder the next season.
