Florida Panthers Aaron Ekblad made it clear that he wasn’t much pleased with pro golfer Brooks Kopeka heckling during their game against NY Rangers. Koepka has often been seen in Florida Panthers games as the LIV player claimed he’s a fan of the team.

Following their Monday game, Koepka made headlines all over the internet as he was caught screaming obscenities directed toward Ekblad. Not only did he scream from his luxury arena suite, but he seemed to have carried a traffic cone while doing so.

Skating around traffic cones is easy, and Koepka’s heckling with a traffic cone seemed to mean that the Panthers’ defenseman was playing loose. In NHL a forward or a defenseman sometimes are compared to a traffic cone to mean he’s an easy target to play with. Regardless, of Koepka’s hidden intention, it was clear that Ekblad didn’t take things lightly.

On Wednesday, Aaron Ekblad addressed the issue with Brooks Koepka‘s footage, as he bluntly stated that he and the golfer “aren’t buddies”. Ekblad stated, “We’re not buddies. Never be buddies”. Considering the incident that took place, there’s not much to say.

Brooks Koepka was seen screaming, “Ekblad you suck! F***ing traffic cone” from the stands. Koepka pointed out Ekblad’s slow skating and weak defense as Panthers fell to the Rangers 4-3. Later Koepka told GolfWRX’s Matt Vincenzi that he didn’t bring the traffic cone to the game.

To his defense, the LIV Golfer claimed that Ekblad gave up a “bad goal” and that it was a “bad pass” from him in the third.

He gave up a bad goal. It was a bad pass in the third. I’m a die-hard P’s fan, and he gave up a bad goal. I just felt like if they didn’t win that game they weren’t going to make the playoffs. Dedicated fan, man

Brooks Koepka said about Aaron Ekblad.

This 2022-23 season, the Panthers have been very inconsistent with their winning style. The team lost 4-straight games and is currently 3 points out of a playoff berth. As the season ends in April, all NHL teams will try to race off for the last round to catch a berth for the Stanley Cup season.

In their recent game against Leafs, the Panthers won 3-2 in OT, although Panthers coach Paul Maurice seemed to have blown off a casket during the game. “I thought it was a very nice opportunity to share feelings” Maurice was caught on camera while screaming at top of his lungs.
