Boston Bruins forward Brad Marchand once again got into conflict with National Hockey League officials, following his comments on social media. During a scrum involving Los Angeles Kings goalie Phoenix Copley, Brad took to Twitter about what he felt was wrong.
Next time when he’s on ice, the officials will have their eyes glued on the forward. The incident took place just a day after he got into another scrum in a game against New York Islanders. The star forward found himself in the penalty box after a hit to Islanders defenceman Adam Pelech.
Brad let the officials know how upset he was with the high-sticking call as he kept screaming from the penalty box. The officials decided to make a severe call thanks to his reputation. Many believe that his infamous alligator identity served him the penalty box this time.
Brad Marchand gets into trouble with NHL officials, once again
Moreover, Brad Marchand’s hit on Adam Pelech made the latter bleed a bit from the cheek. Officials took it as a serious issue, resulting in his penalty. The Saturday incident, followed Sunday when Brad even though not on the ice, managed to rub the officials in the wrong way.
On Sunday, goalie Phoenix Copley punched his blocker and was issued a 5-minute major penalty. Brad went on to argue that he had received more severe consequences on-ice compared to the scrum that took place on Sunday.
He wrote, “I got 6 games for a love tap, he got off with murder if you wanna compare apples”. He may have had his good reasons to do so, but as reported NHL officiating has many a time come under both public and player scrutiny.
Brad even made his intentions known back when Troy Stecher and Trevor Zegras’ scrum was heated. When fans started speculating that Trevor may have made some comments regarding Troy’s late father, Brad took to Twitter, slamming Craig Morgan, “Shut your pie hole Craig”.
Brad is not only known as one of the fiercest alligators of the National Hockey League but also as one of the most outspoken persons. He has never shied away from the camera, whether it’s to start a scrum or to voice out his opinion.
