The NHL 2022-23 season is as harsh as before, with injuries, fights, and challenges plaguing the season. While some teams rise among all, many fall victim to the harshness of ice. The St. Louis Blues head coach Craig Berube is seen to be suffering from frustrations caused by the team’s lax attitude.
It’s mid of the NHL season, but it seems the Blues players are still not into their gear as of now. They have lost their 7 out of 9 last games with the latest defeat being at the hands of the Winnipeg Jets to a 5-2 victory. It was the last straw that the Blues needed to blast off the head coach’s temper off the roof.
NHL season is always accompanied by injuries, but losing team members to an IL seat and losing a game due to lack of attention and motivation strikes completely differently. Not only the head coach Craig, but it seems the fans to are hoping for a positive change maybe by the end of the season.

Craig Berube is on the verge of collapsing after watching the team’s poor performance
Craig Berube told the reporters after their latest loss against the Jets, “If everybody doesn’t come to the rink ready to really compete and move your feet and do things right and be detailed and attentive, we’re not going to go anywhere”. “That’s the bottom line.
“As a coaching staff, we’re preparing them, we tell them what they need to do against this team, look for it, this is what you’ve got to do, but we can’t go out and play for them. They have to go out and play, as a team, and right now, we’re not doing it. We’re not doing it enough, we’re not consistent enough 100 percent. You lose in this league.”
Craig ripped the team by further stating that they are the ones who have to skate on ice and snatch points and pucks from opponents, he can’t possibly baby-feed them everything. To matter worse, it’s just not a single hole that the team has to fix, but several.
The Blues gave up 6 goals out of 9 goal chances while surrendering at least 4 goals in their last 9 games. Their penalty kill skill is the worst going 2-7 as of now. In this little span, they have been outscored 46-27. Currently, they are standing in the 6th position with 12-15 in the Central Divison of the Western Conference.
The team is 5 points behind Calgary Flames for the 2nd Wild Card Entry Spot. Head coach Craig Berube has used whatever was available in his arsenal, but it has not helped the team as of yet. He is looking for answers, hoping to someone fight back against their opponents.
Blues center Robert Thomas noted, “It’s everything”. “We gotta clear guys in front of our net. Forwards gotta stop turning the puck over and be better in the D-zone. Neutral zone we’re soft. But there’s so many things that we’ve continued to talk about all year. It’s the same thing.”
Berube commented, “If they don’t come to the rink and think about the team and put the team first, we’re not going anywhere and right now, I don’t see that happening”. “I think it’s just the attitude of the team right now. It’s creeped in here and it’s just not good right now.”
