WATCH: J.T. Miller loses his mind slamming stick as Collin Delia hesitates on bench call while team collapses against Jets
J.T. Miller lashes out at Collin Delia
It’s Vancouver Cancuks make or break month, and it seems goalie Collin Delia earned some heat from forward J.T. Miller during the game against Winnipeg Jets. Even though Delia led the team till the last, he couldn’t escape from the clutches of Miller’s burst.
Miller’s unusual and sudden burst of anger demonstrated by smashing his stick at the back of the team’s net earned him quite a backlash. If it weren’t for Delia the team wouldn’t have been able to go into the last period. Twitter raged with anger dismissing Miller and his antics.
Some fans even stated that he should change teams if he has problems with his own team’s goaltender. Sure Delia might have been flustered a bit on the ice, and his delayed decision cost the team precious time, still, Miller’s attitude couldn’t be excused.
J.T. Miller lashes out at his own goalie Collin Delia
The Canucks lost to the Jets in a 4-2 record after Jets forward Mark Scheifele scored a hat trick. Despite the lost match, things wouldn’t have escalated downside if not for J.T. Miller. Where Collin Delia’s play should have been celebrated, Miller started trending on social media.
Delia made some big saves during the game which helped the team to sustain its growth till the last period. During the third period, Delia wanted to make a beeline move to their bench, but he hesitated several seconds before doing so.
His hesitancy cost the team a good few seconds. Delia thought he’ll have a call from the bench but there wasn’t any response. He got flustered and caught up in the speedy race on the ice. Miller in frustration burst out screaming at him to leave the ice and slammed his stick at the back of Delia’s net.
Players often tend to get caught up in the heat of the game and may sometimes display rude attitudes or break out in brawls. Although screaming at your own teammate is not the way to go. It goes against team spirit and can break the good momentum of the game.
The fans protested supporting Delia and that Miller should have given him the credit he deserves. Hopefully, things got sorted out in the locker room, otherwise, we’ll have to watch another heated Leafs match next game.
