Boston Bruins forward Brad Marchand went down on the ice after a scuffle with Buffalo Sabres forward on Thursday. It wasn’t too long when Brad encountered a collision with NHL referee Wes McCauley. Though the previous incident was scratched and laughed off by fans, Thursday brought on a serious undertone.

The forward left the ice shortly after a few minutes declaring lower-body injury status. Fans expected the worst to come, but thankfully team coach Jim Montogomery reported Brad may be on the lineup against New York Rangers.

NHL officials took the whole situation under control, with Brad continuing his ice time. He lingered around for the last shift of the game but was reported as “not moving well”. Earlier this season Brad Marchand nursed an ankle injury.

His fall on the ice twice in a week raised concerns for fans and his teammates. Regardless of the incident, Jim Montgomery commented on 98.5 The Sports Hub Show ‘Toucher & Richer’, “Brad was feeling pretty good after the game”.

It was precautionary that he didn’t go back and play. So we’re expecting him to be available to play tomorrow against the Rangers.” On Friday, NBC Sports Nick Goss noted, “Marchand is a key player for the Bruins in so many ways”.

“He’s an elite offensive player, one of the best defensive wingers in the league and an important part of both the power play and penalty kill”. For seven straight seasons, the Nova Scotia native made a point per game, recording 53 points in 53 games with 19 goals and 34 assists in the 2022-23 season.

If Marchand was to put in IR, he would’ve joined his teammates Taylor Hall and Nick Foligno. Despite Marchand leaving the game on Thursday, the Bruins totally annihilated the Sabres with a score of 7-1. This season, the team is performing their level best, with their rosters filled with power players while heading into Stanley Cup season.

Their game against Sabres at TD Garden, etched their team name, setting an NHL record in the process. The Boston Bruins became the fastest team in the National Hockey League to score 100 points in a regular-season game.

To further boast their record, the players achieved the mark within 61 games with 19 yet to play and 38 points left to add to their total score. They recently acquired Tyler Bertuzzi from Detroit Red Wings prior to the trade deadline this week.

Their team already had a pretty strong lineup with top players for the season. Even then, they went further to add more to their lineup. This’ll undoubtedly, help them during the playoff season and is carrying enough to scare top NHL teams with their long player list.
