In 2005, Crosby signed a three-year contract with the Penguins, valued at around $11,100,00. This earned him an average salary of $3,700,000 annually. In 2008, Crosby signed a second five-year contract for $43,500,000, extending his contract till 2012.

According to reports from Spotrac, Crosby later signed a 12-year, $104,400,000 contract with the Pittsburgh Penguins. This saw him receive a base salary of $12,000,000 which later went down as his contract start running down.
In the 2024-25 season, the veteran forward will enter his final year of this massive deal. He will earn up to $3,000,000 in base salary while carrying a cap hit of $8,700,000. Whether Crosby will sign another contract after that or will the Penguins trade him is something that only time will tell.
