Nico Rosberg claims former arch-rival Lewis Hamilton sends his daughter ‘a box full of presents’ every Christmas

The grid is continuously preparing for the upcoming challenges in the 2024 season as the testing session comes close. Hence, amidst the usual preparations, former F1 driver Nico Rosberg recalled how his former arch-rival Lewis Hamilton is close to him despite the on-track shenanigans between the two drivers.
Rosberg and Hamilton were part of the Silver Arrows together from 2013 to 2016. The two drivers were great in their respective elements, however the two clashed heads with each other on multiple occasions. The two have been teammates in motorsports much before pairing up in Formula 1, as the two raced together back in the 2000s. In 2013, the childhood rivals reunited and hence started competing with each other within Brackley.
The Monaco GP of 2014 when Rosberg potentially ruined Lewis Hamilton’s pole qualifying lap was one of the biggest moments between the two apart from the desert duel of 2014 Abu Dhabi. Following the session, the Briton officially announced that the friendship between the two drivers was over. Hence, since then the two kept on fighting for the victories, wherein Hamilton emerged victorious by winning two championships over Rosberg’s single WDC. The German driver won the 2016 WDC and subsequently, he exited from the sport following the mental stress that was caused to him. This put an end to their on-track rivalry.
Regardless of this long battle between the two drivers, Rosberg reminisced about a wholesome detail about Hamilton. The 38-year-old claimed that the former arch-rivals meet each other at times. Additionally, he said the seven-time World Champion gifted the German’s daughter with a huge box full of presents on Christmas.

Lewis Hamilton’s move to Ferrari was shocking even for the Briton’s arch-rival at Mercedes. Hence, Nico Rosberg had recently shared his opinions over the 39-year-old’s bombshell move to Ferrari from 2025. The 38-year-old mentioned that he was ‘surprised’ to hear the Mercedes star’s move to Ferrari amidst potentially improving form of the team. Regardless, Rosberg accepted the fact that Hamilton was fulfilling a personal dream by sealing his move to the Italian constructor from the following season.
The 2024 season will see Lewis Hamilton drive for Brackley for one last time before he joins the red suits of Maranello. Hence, Rosberg asserted that both the teams were equally legendary, and hence everyone wished to drive for those teams. As a result, it is safe to assume that Hamilton’s move to Ferrari has been validated by his former teammate in Formula 1.

Lewis Hamilton would push himself throughout the season while at Mercedes and potentially aim for the championship in 2024. Hence, time will tell about the benefits of the Briton’s late career switch in teams. Regardless, Hamilton will drive in the 2024 season as a Mercedes driver and try his best to maximize results down the season.
