2x Olympic gold medalist Mikaela Shiffrin and her longtime boyfriend Aleksander Aamodt Kilde announced their engagement on social media. Since going public about their relationship back in May 2021 the duo has been dating for three years. Wedding bells are expected to ring anytime soon as the power couple enjoys their break on a snowy destination.

Their photos on social media reveal snowy mountains in the background as Shiffrin flashes her diamond ring to the camera. Her caption read, “?????”. After going public in May 2021, they walked down the red carpet at the ESPYs in the same year.

Former skier Bode Miller congratulated Mikaela Shiffrin and Aleksander Aamodt Kilde noting, “Congratulations you guys!” Her public relationship manager and advisor Megan Harrod also typed on their Instagram update, “???? yaaaaaaaaaaaaay”.

The good news comes after Kilde suffered a horrible crash during the World Cup downhill race in Wengen, Switzerland, in January. It was not only Kilde but also Shiffrin who lost control during an airborne jump at the World Cup, resulting in an alarming accident.

Mikaela Shiffrin and fellow skier Aleksander Aamodt Kilde have been dating for a long time. After making their relationship public in 2021, the duo has received much love and support from fans all over the world. In an interview, Shiffrin called Kilde her “role mode” and inspiration not only as an athlete but also as a person.

The 5x World Cup winner talked about how Kilde has been a positive influence on her in many aspects of her life. She appreciated his knowledge, input on the game, personality, and thoughts on “how you should behave as a human.”

He is for me, he’s such a role model as an athlete and also as a human. How he acts and how he treats people, his patience and his motivations.

Shiffrin expresses how she loves “just having fun and being silly” with Kilde, but also thinking and learning of better ways to act as a person. The duo are now enjoying their fun getaway as they announced their engagement on social media platforms.
