Sunisa Lee ends her glorious Auburn gymnastics career citing health issues
The 20-year-old informed about her injury and announced her end from Auburn Tigers.

On Monday, Olympic gold medalist Sunisa Lee announced that she is moving away from college gymnastics. She took to her Twitter handle to inform about her decision of leaving Auburn. She also stated that she will no longer be competing at the college level due to her health issues.
Lee, who won three medals at the Tokyo Olympics including one in the women’s all-around shocked the world. She cited her ”non-gymnastics” health-related issues with her kidneys. In a post, she mentioned that the medical team did not clear her to train and participate over the last few weeks. She thanked her diagnosis team and said that her main focus is now on her health and recovery.
She is the first reigning champion to participate at the NCAA level. In November last year, she announced that this would be her last season at Auburn. Lee informed that her eyes are well and truly set for the 2024 Olympics in Paris. As a newbie, she won the NCAA title on the balance beam and claimed the runner-up spot in the all-around. Lee was the 2020 women’s all-around gymnastics champion in Tokyo.

Sunisa Lee is one of the finest athletes the world has seen and is one of the rising stars in the field of athletics. Many would be hoping this injury does not bring a halt to her amazing career. In addition to her gold, Lee was a part of the silver medal-winning group at the Tokyo Games in 2021. After her historic performance in Tokyo, she performed on ”Dancing With The Star” reaching fifth. She was the first Hmong-American to make it into the team.
Lee was a part of Auburn Tiger’s women’s gymnastics team. It represents Auburn University in Alabama. She had stopped competing for the team in February. Her mentioning that she was suffering from non-gymnastics health-related kidney issues was the only information she revealed. Ever since she announced her decision, several fans and followers have showered her with their love.
She began her gymnastics career at the age of six where she started at the Midwest Gymnastics Center. The following year she began participating and won the all-around at the state meet. At the young age of eight, she moved up three levels and by the time she was eleven, she was qualified for the elite. In 2019, she would make her senior debut at the age of sixteen.
