Where to Watch the Tokyo Paralympics 2020 Opening Ceremony?

Even though the Tokyo Olympics 2020 is over, it is not the end of the sporting season. Fans will now be witnessing some incredible action at the Tokyo Paralympics 2020 that will begin on August 24, 2021. Interestingly, there are over 500 events spread across 22 sports at the Paralympic Games this year.
This is the 16th edition of the Paralympic Games and interestingly, it is for the second time that they are taking place in Tokyo after 1964. The last edition took place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in 2016. As usual, the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) is organising the Games this year as well.
Just like every time, before the beginning of the play, there will be an opening ceremony that will be taking place at the Tokyo Paralympics 2020. It will be happening on August 24, 2021.
Where and When can fans watch the live opening ceremony of the Tokyo Paralympics 2020?
The ceremony will begin at different times in different nations. Here’s what times it will be kicking off in various parts of the world:
- UK – 12pm BST (midday)
- East Coast US – 7am EST
- West Coast US – 4am PDT
- Japan – 8pm JST
- India – 4:30 pm IST
Fans in India can watch it live on Eurosport and Eurosport HD. In addition, DD National will telecast the ceremony live and fans can watch it there as well.
Those living in the United Kingdom can tune to Channel 4 which is the official broadcaster of the tournament. The coverage will be split across Channel 4, More 4, and 4Seven, which will have live signing and live enhanced open AD/commentary. The United States fans will be able to access the opening ceremony live on NBC.
One can even watch the live streaming of the ceremony on All 4 or on Peacock, which is owned by NBC. All 4 are free to sign but one would require a valid TV license in order to watch the ceremony here.
Thus, fans are eagerly waiting for the Tokyo Paralympics 2020. It’ll be interesting to see which nation manages to grab the most medal in Tokyo this year.
