Cedric Doumbe is one of the biggest names in French MMA. The former Glory Kickboxing champion made his debut in the PFL in scintillating fashion at PFL Europe 3. Now, his second fight with the promotion has taken the MMA world by storm. In France, the fight has the vibe of UFC 229 when Khabib Nurmagomedov fought Conor McGregor.

PFL and Doumbe announced that Doumbe will headline PFL Paris on March 8 against Baissangour Chamsoudinov. Both Doumbe and Chamsoudinov are undefeated in professional MMA. Doumbe is a fan favorite, and many celebrities like Kylian Mbappe attended his PFL debut. Chamsoudinov trains at the MMA factory where notable UFC fighters like Ciryl Gane and Nassourdine Imavov train. Francis Ngannou also trained at the MMA factory before his split with head coach Fernand Lopez.

Even though the fight has big hype, the two fighters combined have just 13 MMA fights between them. However, Doumbe has an extensive record in Kickboxing. PFL has high hopes for Doumbe. Doumbe was set to make his debut in the UFC, but the promotion released him. It is a move that many consider a big mistake by the UFC.

Doumbe and Michael Venom Page had a face-off recently before the UFC signed Page. The face-off garnered fan appreciation as Doumbe and Page are two of the most dynamic strikers in MMA. However, with Page signing with the UFC, fans lost all hope for the fight. Page will make his UFC debut against Kevin Holland at UFC 299.
