This time, the Las Vegas Raiders are actually considering the option to trade their star veteran wide receiver, Davante Adams. Looks like they’ve already started browsing their options, in order to get the best draft capital in exchange.
Throughout the offseason, the Raiders received many offers to trade the three-time All-Pro receiver, but they ended up declining all of them. ESPN’s Adam Schefter also confirmed that the team isn’t ready to move on from Adams. But as the 2024 regular season started, the tides shifted along with the team’s mind on the subject.
Vincent Bonsignore of the Las Vegas Review-Journal shared a report on Tuesday, revealing that the Raiders have been approaching the NFL teams with an offer to trade Adams.
Due to the struggles of the quarterback room, Adams hasn’t been able to make much impact in Las Vegas. Trading him will give the team an option to draft a potential franchise quarterback from the first-round pick.
Davante Adams responds to social media speculation about his trade
A day before this report came out, the veteran wideout addressed the trade rumors during his appearance on Up and Adams show. He was asked about a social media post liked by the Raiders head coach Antonio Pierce, that suggested the receiver might have played his last game with the team in week 4.
Judging by Adams’ words, it seems he is also ready for the next chapter of his career. But he refused to comment anything on the subject, believing it’s best to just relax and focus on his game.
There’s a high possibility that Adams might land in New York via a trade, as the New York Jets and Aaron Rodgers have been convincing him to join them but he has refused. But if he’s in the market now, it would be quite exciting to see the reunion of a solid QB-WR duo of Rodgers and Adams.
