Rob Gronkowski Thinks Tom Brady Would Be Better Than Atleast 20 Current NFL Quarterbacks

Tom Brady retired in 2023, but his former teammate, Rob Gronkowski believes the seven time Super Bowl winning quarterback can still prove to be a prolific player in the NFL.

After spending 23 years in the NFL, Tom Brady announced his retirement in 2023. During that time, he represented the New England Patriots and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Now 48, Brady splits his time working for FOX Sports and taking care of his kids. However, Brady’s former teammate, Rob Gronkowski, believes that if Brady decides to return to football, he will still be better than two-thirds of the starting quarterbacks in the NFL.

In a recent segment of the Up & Adams Show, the former tight end explained that the reason Brady is no longer playing football is the fear of picking up a nasty injury. If by some miracle the league banned the tackling of the quarterback, Gronk is convinced that Brady could easily go up and start over at least 20 quarterbacks in the league.

When you’re 48 years old, and you get hit by a D-lineman who is 23 years old… If he could not be hit at all say and he knew he was gonna be in a clean pocket, every single time he steps up, and he was playing in the NFL, I would say he would be better than probably about 20 of the starting quarterbacks right now.

Rob Gronkowski told Kay Adams

Brady played 335 games during his long league career. He registered a 251-82 win/loss record. He completed 7753 passes for 89,214 yards, 649 touchdowns, and 212 interceptions. Brady won seven Super Bowl rings—six with the Patriots and one with the Buccaneers.

Rob Gronkowski once said Tom Brady can play until 54

By maintaining the TB12 diet, Brady has kept himself in terrific physical condition. He displayed that during his flag football invitational tournament earlier this year.

After watching Brady sling a few touchdowns for his team, Gronk declared that Brady could keep playing until age 54.

Hypothetically speaking, I would say [Tom Brady could play] until 54 years old. This guy is just different. He blew my mind. Over the last month, we were training together, and every time I was walking away impressed with his skill-set, his competitiveness, and just how his arm strength, his accuracy is all still there.

Gronkowski said (H/T Patriots Wire)

In March, Brady tried a last-ditch effort to make a comeback. However, the NFL declined to entertain his request because he owns a minority share in the Las Vegas Raiders.

I actually have inquired, and they don’t like that idea very much. So I’m going to leave it at that.

Tom Brady joins FOX Sports campaign for FIFA 2026 World Cup

FOX Sports conjured up the brilliant idea to add Tom Brady to its 2026 Soccer World Cup campaign. The former quarterback appeared in a video with former Sweden National Team captain Zlatan Ibrahimović, former U.S. head coach Bruce Arena, and U.S. hockey icon Mike Eruzione.

Set to “The Impossible Dream” by legendary Elvis Presley, the ad imagines a historic scenario where the United States lifts the World Cup trophy.

The 2026 [FIFA] World Cup is going to be an event unlike anything this country has ever seen before – more teams, more matches, and it’s happening right here in our own backyard on America’s 250th birthday. We couldn’t think of a better way to capture the American spirit and this celebratory moment than dreaming of what it might look like if the U.S. won it all.

Robert Gottlieb, President, Marketing, FOX Sports said

The 2026 event is the largest in the tournament’s history, featuring 48 teams and 104 matches across the United States, Mexico, and Canada. The tournament will kick off on June 11 between Mexico and South Africa at Estadio Azteca in Mexico City.
