Rob Gronkowski explained a brilliant travel hack for frequent fliers. Gronk, who starred for both the New England Patriots and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers during his playing days, prefers “Flying commercial” instead of booking a private plane.

Speaking on Jason Tartick’s show, Gronkowski explained the simple travel hack that saves him a lot of money.

Flying [in a] commercial [plane] across country, I mean, it’s a four to six-hour flight. You can definitely get one of those lay down beds now, where you can close the door. You have your own pod. You can lay down, you[‘ve] got a blanket, you[‘ve] got a pillow, internet, you get meals that are delicious, all the channels on the TV, and 300 movies to choose from.

Gronk travels across the country daily to either cover NFL games for FOX Sports or just for pleasure. For commercial flights, he pays a little over $1000 per trip and travels in luxury. It’s cheaper than taking a private plane.

Let me tell you, that absolutely beats a private plane going across the country. It’s a thousand bucks compared to $60,000 or $70,000.

Gronk’s frugal lifestyle is well documented. Despite earning a lot from his NFL contracts, the former tight end opted to save the money rather than spend it like most athletes. Gronk explained the reason.

I was a second-round pick, 4 million dollars, $3.5 million was like guaranteed… So, if I play those four, and that’s all I have… I can put $2 million in the bank… I am good. The way I live, I can go on for a while. I thought renting an apartment was just great, I didn’t know a high standard of living. I got brought up, as kind of more of a frugal guy, frugal family.

Rob Gronkowski calls AJ Brown the X-factor of the New England Patriots

Gronk’s former team, the Patriots, made a blockbuster trade in the offseason. They brought in All-Pro wideout AJ Brown to bolster the offense.

The Patriots needed a marquee receiver on the team after Stefon Diggs left. Brown, a lifelong Patriots fan, wanted out of the Philadelphia Eagles. Both teams waited until June one deadline. The Patriots sent a 2027 fifth-round pick and a 2028 first-round pick to acquire Brown’s services.

Gronk believes Brown will prove to be the X-factor in the Patriots’ push for another Super Bowl appearance.

I think he’s going to be the X factor to put the Patriots back into contention of being in the Super Bowl… To go back to the Super Bowl, you’ve got to upgrade your roster, and no doubt A.J. Brown is the upgrade that they needed.

Brown crossed 1000 yards four straight years with Philly. However, his numbers fell from 1400+ yards in the first two seasons to barely reaching 1000 yards in the final couple of years, leading to his frustration with the offense.

Gronk compared Brown’s addition to the Patriots to signing Randy Moss back in the day. Although they are different players, Gronk believes Brown can have a similar impact as the Hall of Famer.

I think he’s going to be tuned in and ready to go. He’s young enough still to give it his all, go out there and produce at the highest level.

Brown is thrilled to link up with Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel, who drafted him at Tennessee. Vrabel is currently dealing with a scandal involving a former NFL insider for The Athletic, Dianna Russini.
