Roman Reigns will defend the World Heavyweight Championship against Jacob Fatu in a Tribal Combat at Clash in Italy. It was made official after what transpired during the initial moments of this week’s Raw. Reigns pulled up to the arena, and he ran into Adam Pearce backstage. The Raw GM told ‘The OTC’ that he should’ve let him fire Fatu last week itself.

‘The Tribal Chief’ wasn’t going to put up with all of that and told Pearce that he was headed to the ring to call Fatu out. However, the latter beat him to the punch and made his way out first. ‘The Samoan Werewolf’ then dared the world champ to come out so that he could beat him up. The Usos answered the call and made a beeline to Fatu.

While Jey Uso was ready to attack ‘The Samoan Werewolf’ with a steel chair, Jimmy Uso tried talking some sense into Fatu but to no avail. The former NWA Champion eventually attacked and tamed the tag team stalwarts with the Tongan Death Grip one by one. The Usos were obviously out for revenge for what Fatu did to them and Reigns on last week’s Raw.

The former US Champion hip-attacked Reigns and the Usos through the barricade to close out Raw last Monday. Despite starving to make Fatu pay for his unhinged demeanor, the longest-reigning WWE tag team champs succumbed to the wrath of their cousin. Roman Reigns ultimately made his way out and looked Jacob Fatu dead in his eyes.

They got into a brawl, and Fatu had once again caught Reigns in that Tongan Death Grip. The Usos arrived to the aid of their cousin and managed to get the upper hand on ‘The Samoan Werewolf’ for once. Jimmy and Jey tied Fatu up in the ring ropes that allowed Reigns to hammer him with a couple of Superman punches.

The Usos then pushed Fatu into a spear from Reigns to cap off the beatdown. On his way to the back, Reigns told Pearce near the entrance stage that he could now fire Fatu and do whatever he wanted to. Before that could happen, ‘The Samoan Werewolf’, all battered and gasping for air, picked up the mic and uttered “Tribal Combat.”

The general manager of Raw shook his head at the proposal, but Reigns accepted the challenge. It reeked of a desperation move from Fatu, who’s willing to go to extreme lengths to become a world champion in WWE and upgrade his household as a result.

The ex-enforcer of Solo Sikoa went berserk after losing to Roman Reigns at Backlash. The disbelief of that loss unlocked unprecedented levels of insanity in the Sacramento native, and he even put his hands on WWE officials in addition to making Reigns foam at his mouth.

What would be the consequences of Roman Reigns vs. Jacob Fatu’s match result at Clash in Italy?

As things stand, it has become a do-or-die situation for the ‘Samoan Werewolf’. Either he will take the world title off Roman Reigns in Turin, or he’ll be forced to acknowledge the 40-year-old as his tribal chief under the rules of tribal combat. The ‘Head of the Table’ didn’t hesitate accepting the challenge from Jacob Fatu, knowing better than anyone else what was at stake.

There have only been two tribal combats in WWE history so far. Reigns has beaten Jey Uso and Solo Sikoa in those matches to remain the tribal chief of their wrestling dynasty. Jacob Fatu has an overwhelming state of mind at the moment, and he might’ve possibly booked himself into a corner with this.

Should he lose to Reigns under Tribal Combat rules at Clash in Italy, he’ll have to fall in line and become a subordinate to Reigns. However, given how WWE has presented the 34-year-old as a maniac who has no control, there’s still a good shot of Fatu revolting despite the customs set in place.
