LeBron James‘ loudest haters have been calling this free-agent period nothing but a distraction. They believe that wherever he goes, he will be joining a team stacked to the brim as he looks to add another ring or two to his collection.

The logic behind this negative thought process is that whichever team the Akron native has played for, he won championships when he had another superstar or two beside him.

They claim that he has a tendency to stack up teams. But despite that, has not been able to match the great Michael Jordan, or even the late Los Angeles Lakers great, Kobe Bryant.

Whatever team he next chooses, he will again have at least two superstars playing alongside him. The likes of Paul Pierce have already labeled that a move to the Philadelphia 76ers would take James out of the GOAT race, simply because of the talent on that team.

Other teams may not have the same talent, but are further than other contenders. Therefore, the narrative that LeBron James is ring chasing has been thrown around quite a few times.

It’s the ending of his career. I’m sure he’s gonna pick wisely. I’m sure he wants to go somewhere where he has a really good chance of winning. A lot of people call it ring chasing. It’s not ring chasing, it’s just defining your legacy… More power to LeBron.

Shaquille O’Neal said on Sports Illustrated

The Big Aristotle reiterated that his former teammate has and should continue to build his legacy, which means winning championships. LeBron James has every right to do so, just as anyone else can. Shaquille O’Neal believes there is nothing wrong with ring chasing.

Shaquille O’Neal knows a thing or two about chasing rings. After leaving the Miami Heat via trade, the center jumped teams in search of a fifth championship to match his former teammate Kobe Bryant.

For that, he even teamed up with LeBron James on the Cleveland Cavaliers, but injuries stopped a possible title run from taking off. Now, the Diesel believes that the 41-year-old wants to do the same as almost all veterans do.

He’s in the room. He’s able to make his own decisions. But I’m sure he’s going to go with a team where he has a great chance of winning because he realizes that he’s near the end. One, two, maybe three more years, so he’s probably going to want to play for a contender.

In this interview with People, the Hall of Famer reiterated that James is inside the room where only players with multiple championships can enter. Therefore, he has earned the right to choose what he wants to do next.

He understands that to further his legacy, the father of three will be looking to join the team that will give him the best chance to add more rings. Wherever James goes, the team will be considered a contender to lift the Larry O’Brien trophy until he retires.

LeBron James felt it was ‘crazy’ NBA schedule is dependent on him

Shaquille O’Neal took part in the Fanatics Fest, and so did LeBron James, who had shows on back-to-back days where he was promoting both his podcasts. On the first day, Tyrese Haliburton tried to recruit the veteran to the Indiana Pacers. On the second day, his ‘The Shop’ colleagues asked him where he was going.

That’s crazy, by the way.

LeBron James said

This was the four-time league MVP’s response when his colleagues informed him that the league had put on hold its schedule until James decided where he was going. From his instant response, the former Lakers superstar let it be known that even he found it absurd that he was holding up the league.
