The NFL never ceases to entertain. The AFC and NFC Championships recently concluded with the Kansas City Chiefs winning the battle over the Cincinnati Bengals and the Philadelphia Eagles winning their battle against the San Francisco 49ers, respectively. The stage is set for the Super Bowl. However, before teams begin to gear up to prepare for the biggest game of their lives, the fans of the winning teams are taking their time to soak this victory in and enjoy it.

One of the most entertaining aspects of the championship games was the trash-talking that ensued prior to the game. It is customary for players to talk smack to their opponents in person and online. However, in recent times, fans have been witnessing trash talk take place between the relatives of these athletes as well. For the Kansas City Chiefs, Brittany Mahomes, the wife of QB Patrick Mahomes, has been the biggest supporter, while it is someone else for the Cincinnati Bengals.

Eli Apple, the cornerback who has been known to talk a big game, has a reputation to talk smack, and his infamous “Cancun on 3” comments following the victory against the Buffalo Bills, came back to bite him. While Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals have been a team who are extremely hard to dislike, Eli Apple has been one player who does not have that many fans because his trash-talking does tend to get in the way of his game.

The Kansas City Chiefs have a loyal and passionate fanbase who root for their team through thick and thin. Following their team’s decisive victory over the Bengals, it was only natural that they would troll the trash-talkers. Eli Apple’s statements ended up bothering his mother as fans began to bombard her with tweets and messages calling her son out.

It reached a point where Annie Apple was not having it and was compelled to deactivate her Twitter account almost immediately after the game ended. Eli Apple, maybe you do need to be a bit more cautious when it comes to talking smack. Fans reacted to his mother deleting her Twitter:

She’s his mother, she kind of has to defend him.

Valid question.

Annie Apple has activated her account again now. However, it is hilarious that she got away from social media so that she does not have to go through all the criticisms and troll messages.
