- Shedeur Sanders is competing for the QB1 spot with Deshaun Watson on the Cleveland Browns.
- The Browns have drafted two new receivers, KC Concepcion and Denzel Boston, to improve their receiving corps.
- KC Concepcion has expressed excitement about building chemistry with Shedeur Sanders, acknowledging areas for improvement.
The Cleveland Browns still have Shedeur Sanders battling for the QB1 spot alongside veteran signal-caller Deshaun Watson. But there is no doubt that he is viewed as their future.
The latter’s albatross of a contract is what forced the franchise to reverse its earlier criticism of him and keep him around at least for next season.
With a dead cap of $131 million looming over his head, the last thing the rebuilding Browns want is for that to scupper their chances of drawing prized free agents.
As of now, Shedeur Sanders is slightly behind Watson in the race to become the starting quarterback. However, the team’s decision to draft some crucial pieces has some believing it will help the Colorado star in the future.
Browns have now given Shedeur two receivers – a smaller lightning one (KC Concepcion) and a bigger faster one (Denzel Boston)! Shedeur had the worst receiving corps in the league last season, according to PFF. Not anymore. And Fano will greatly improve poor protection.

He was not the only one to think that the Browns aced this draft. Their receiver room was already thin, and then the news came that starting tight end David Njoku would not return.
YESSSSS! Browns have now given Shedeur two receivers – a smaller lightning one (KC Concepcion) and a bigger faster one (Denzel Boston)! Shedeur had the worst receiving corps in the league last season according to PFF. Not any more. And Fano will greatly improve poor protection.

Now, for them to add two receivers to help Jerry Jeudy and the existing core of young pass catchers led Skip Bayless to think that these decisions were made with the intention to provide Shedeur Sanders enough weapons whenever he takes the lead.
KC Concepcion already has links with Shedeur Sanders
During his rookie campaign, Sanders faced some teething troubles with leading receiver Jerry Jeudy, which they eventually worked out. But what caught everyone’s attention was how good the QB’s chemistry was with some of his fellow draft classmates.

Even though he blends well with everyone, there are always those a quarterback will like more than others. On that note, KC Concepcion and Denzel Boston might be new to the fold, but the former already has links with his future QB.
Whenever I entered the transfer portal… I had actually went down to Colorado and met Shedeur… He’s a great guy, a great leader. I just cannot wait to build that relationship and build that connection with him.
KC Concepcion said during his introductory press conference
The Texas A&M star also revealed that Shedeur Sanders had reached out to him, both before the draft and after the Browns selected him.

All of these points point to the budding chemistry between them, even though they are yet to have their first practice together. If that bond develops into production on the field, Sanders might steer the Browns back from oblivion.
KC Concepcion stays humble and acknowledges drops
Those who are critical of anything and everything mind point to this opening press conference to troll KC Concepcion for his obvious stutter. But that did not stop the receiver from staying humble and acknowledging what he needs to work on.
I have had drops, but it’s more so concentration, just focusing on the ball. I’ve been working nonstop at it every day, so it’s going to get fixed for sure.
KC Concepcion said
Unlike some other receivers whose apparent cocky demeanor put off fans, the media, and team executives, the New York native made it clear that he is working on his mistakes.
#Browns WR KC Concepcion acknowledged the criticisms he's faced about drops leading into the draft and said he accepts it.

The 21-year-old has time on his hands with the Browns’ rookie camp coming up, but acknowledges that those were concentration mistakes. If he works on it, then Shedeur Sanders can lean on his otherworldly shiftiness in the middle of the field.
